Happy First Birthday! (blue + green)

Image
The first birthday party went great!  The weather was perfect for an outdoor party. :) I'm glad, because I really didn't want to have to redirect everyone to the church that's a walk through a big yard…in the rain! For the cake, I had intended on making a candy shell for the bottom half of the cake.  At the last minute, I decided to make the bottom half a huge rice krispie treat! :) (Thanks Sarah for the help with that!)   I did stick with the original plan to ice the cake with blue and green rosettes. I decorated a tshirt using leftover fabric from his crib skirt, and my mom made some shorts to match! We hung pennant flags from azalea bushes in the front yard and around his high chair ( Thanks to Julia and Sarah for helping with that)  and hung green and blue gallons from the Magnolia tree and on the mailbox ( Thanks Rachel for taking care of all the balloon inflating!!)   For seating, we set out camping chairs (and our Eagle's Nest Swing),...

Another Purse for Another Sister! :)

I picked out this fabric a while back, thinking I'd use it for something for me or my middle sister...or both. Well, this adorable clutch pattern I found at  Skip to my Lou  was perfect for my sister.  I added a strap to the side so she can carry it solo with her phone and wallet...or use it as a wallet in her purse! :)  I think the polka dots are cute too.  The instructions at  Skip to my Lou Pleated Pouch Tutorial   were amazing!  She did a FANTASTIC JOB explaining everything!  Absolutely the easiest zipper I've installed in my life! :) Tutorial from:

Oldies but Goodies

1st off....One year ago today, this was me... Yay!! A year ago today, I graduated with my 1st degree from Auburn :)  Here's my  diploma   :) :) Which I haven't framed. I had a pretty frame, but the diploma was a bit big for it...and all the other frames are crazy expensive...so I'm thinking that when I'm done getting degrees, I'll get them all framed together :) And today, I'm looking through some old pictures as I organize the mess on my external hard drive.  When i get done, I'll work on my scrapbook of the wedding planning process through the first year of marriage :)  Here's some old pictures I found along the way... Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!
