Homemade Pizza Rolls

Image
While we were spring cleaning a few days ago, we needed a snack.  It was time to go to the grocery store, but I checked out the fridge to see what we had.  Pretty much our "basics" really!  I decided these little guys would be the perfect snack to hold us over!  They were super easy too! :) 1 can crescent rolls marinara sauce of your choice (we used some kind that had spinach in it...yummy!) shredded cheese (Colby-Monterey Jack for us) block of Mozzarella cheese Follow the directions on the crescent roll can for what temp to preheat your oven to (may be different for different brands or varieties.)  Unroll the crescents and lie them flat on a cookie sheet.  Spread some marinara sauce on top.  Cover with shredded cheese, and place a tiny block of mozzarella cheese in the center of the biggest part of the crescent.  Fold in the two corners on the short end of the crescent and fold down just a little bit. Bring the longer end of the crescent around to wrap the "topping

Green Sauce

Image
I'm quite impressed with the yumminess of this meal!! I basically just used some things from the freezer to create a unique sauce for my noodles (unique to me anyway!!) :) **1 frozen bell pepper, sliced **about 8 slices frozen zuchinni **1/2 cup frozen broccoli puree **a little olive oil with italian seasoning mixed in **remnant of mozzarella cheese in the fridge (prob 1/4 cup broken up and thrown in the pan) Warm in a pan on medium until nice and yummy! Eat with your favorite noodles and homemade Rosemary Foccacia bread. :)

Any good macaroon suggestions?

Image
photo source I had one of these in France...but it was not a typical small macaron.  It was fantastic!  Madame and I were walking in Avignon after visiting Palais des Papes (which was really great...if you go to Avignon, pay the few Euros to tour the place!).  Anywho, we were walking around Place de l'Horlage and stopped at a sandwich shop to get lunch and a macaroon (strawberry!!) that was about 3 inches in diameter!!!.  This shop is where we stopped, actually!! :) :) I'm so glad I found that on Google Maps!! Just made my day! :) Anywho....so I was wondering, has anyone made French macaroons?  I've looked for recipes and such online, but I was just curious if anyone had made them and has any tips for me! :)  I hope to experiment making some in the near future.  I have some lavender, so I just may make some lavender flavored ones.  I also have some rose honey I bought in Nice, France that I may use in some filling in a vanilla flavored macaron. (This is assuming I master

War Eagle Greeting Card

Classic Navy 5x7 folded card Create personalized greeting cards and invitations by Shutterfly. View the entire collection of cards. --------------------------------------------- Look at these cute cards I made for us! This picture was taken at Toomer's Corner after the National Championship game! The inside of the card has a picture of Samford Hall after the SEC Championship. It just so happened to have an orange glow on it due to the moonlight. It's beautiful! :) I'm excited to get these in the mail so I can send a little "War Eagle!" to everyone! :)

I made my goal! :)

For my hair length, that is! I've been trying to grow my hair out for a little while, which is why there has been a picture of a girl growing her hair in my sidebar.  I've talked about growing out my hair to donate in this post .  Well, it's at 8 inches past my chin now! :)  But.....I still want it to grow longer. :) :) When I DO finally cut it, I will most definitely take before and after pictures.  I just wanted to share that I did it! :)

A Litte Shop Change :)

Image
I've been introduced to Big Cartel lately.  At first, I couldn't quite tell the difference between that and etsy, but after reading Mandy's comparison here  everything was clearer! :)  I've been considering this for a little while, and now it's happening! I've started a Big Cartel shop, but only for my father-in-law's artwork.  I've decided this way, I don't have to list a quantity and pay per item (considering we have oodles of packs of notecards...listing each one would cost a small fortune!) Plus, I can group the notecards into one or two groups.  I'm working on adding some of his original watercolor pieces, as well as some prints.  Right now I have a few of each.  I'm still using the free account, so I can't add more unless I....1. group some together like I did with the notecards or 2. upgrade (which is a possibility in the future!) Check out the shop and let me know what you think!  lucasart.bigcartel.com Of course, lik

Cheap Chicken & Broccoli Soup!

Image
It's not a fancy soup and it's oh so inexpensive! :) ((And quite yummy!!)) For those of you who don't know, it's been quite cold around here lately. As a result, Adam & I were really wanting some soup for dinner the other night! We came up with this! 1 can cream of broccoli soup 1 3/4 cup milk (more or less depending on how thick you like it) 1 can of chicken (drained and rinsed) 2 pinches of your favorite seasoning (we used Herbes de Provence) 1/2 cup shredded cheese (we used Colby & Montery Jack) Mix it all together and cook in a saucepan until hot! After you pour it into bowls (or oversized mugs, which is what we use for soup!) sprinkle a little extra cheese on top! It's so yummy, we didn't have any leftovers! Here's the mugs we have our soup in a lot.  Adam's sister got them for us after we got engaged. Bride & Groom Mugs

Broccoli Salad :)

Image
Mom and I love broccoli salad...we used to oick it up at the Wal-Mart deli every once in a while...but my Wal-Mart deli changed their recipe. So we took a few recipes and picked what we liked from them...added in what was in the cabinet and came out with this yummy recipe. :)  We decided not to put in the onion this time because Dad isn't a huge fan of onions...but they would be good in it! :) Enjoy and Happy New Year!!

Knitted Scarf - Another Christmas present I made! :)

Image
I made this scarf for my friend Catherine for Christmas. :)  I retaught myself how to knit and used a black & white yarn with a magenta-ish yarn to make is super soft and pretty thick and warm. :) She loved it! :) I made a scarf for my sister too that is teal and brown, but I haven't snagged a picture of her wearing it yet. Now that Christmas is over, I can start showing off a few things I made for gifts. :) Oh, and speaking of knitting, I'm thinking of trying out making something along the lines of a knitted cowl....hmmm we'll see!! :)  My ultimate goal is to make a blanket, but I want to play around with making smaller things first. :)
