I used to have decently in-shape muscles from dance, and wouldn't you know it, they didn't really hang around after 6 years of not doing dance on a regular basis. They started to show back up about two years ago when I took a dance class in undergrad, but they ran away again. I still have leg muscles that hang around because I walk about a mile or more a day from walking or biking to and from class or other errands or meetings on campus, but the abs have disappeared. I decided I needed to do something about that. Running helps, but it's just not the same as a real ab workout. I've got the degree that taught me all I needed to know to make my own workout, but having the video tell you that you have to do ten more crunches really makes you push through. If I were to just sit here and make my own workout, I would probably stop when I felt "tired." My Exercise Science degree has also taught me that just because you're "tired" doesn't mean you can't go a little further. Funny all that just came to mind...because guess what two classes I'm taking next semester while I'm studying for my Comprehensive Exams...Exercise Prescription and Exercise Motivation & Adherence. I feel like they go hand in hand, don't you? :)
I said I'd post pictures of Megan's Cupcake Pin Cushion and Birthday cake....here they are!! :) From a and w Somehow, I managed to forget to take a finished product picture....you can see the pins in this picture where I was hand stitching the "wrapper" in place. I also added a pom-pom to the top. And the cake... From a and w And her reaction when Julia & I gave it to her! (On my singing, colorfully lit cake plate my parents gave me for my birthday!! :) :) ) From a and w
Today, {Love Stitched} is having a kitchen feature (and a giveaway!) I know I may have one of the smallest kitchens in the Linky party, but will say…I’ve had smaller! :) Well, here goes! This is my entire kitchen! The lovely laminate flooring was laid by my hubby. It’s the kind that sticks to itself and not the floor, so essentially, it’s a custom made wooden rug to cover the tiles underneath. That’s not a dishwasher behind the black curtain (that just made me think of the Wizard of Oz, by the way), it’s just a curtain I made to hide our cleaning supplies. I have a table too, but it really sits in the “den” or “dining area” whichever you want to call it! :) Here are some close-ups… The left side of the kitchen…What do you think about that loooooong cabinet on the left? When we first moved in, we thought it was a little odd, but now we have come to realize that it’s the perfect coffee cup cabinet! :) And the right side of the kitchen…where we have our fridg...
In case you haven't looked at my etsy shop , stop by! I've got several sets of watercolor notecards listed, painted by my father-in-law. And just now, I've added a listing for 5 passport covers I made tonight! :) I've made it so you can have a choice in what button you have on front. I'm so excited!! You can ask Adam...I've been talking everyday for the last...two weeks....about how I want to make something to put on Etsy! After I made my passport cover (because I wished I had one when I went to France)...I was already thinking about making more and listing them, and then I had a few several people confirm that for me. Right now, I only have one blue paisley design listed, but I've got LOTS of fabric here I can use. Adam voted I make some Auburn colored ones, of course. So I'm sure I'll list some of those soon! :) Anywho, I'm excited! :)
i haven't done crunches in awhile....or any ab workout for that matter! i need to get it in gear! :)
